The new normal. The post covid celebration. And back again.

2020 & 2021 certainly had their share of twists and turns. We went from having to lay off our crew to looking to hire new members in the blink of an eye. What started as a dismal outlook in 2020 turned out to be more abundant than we could have ever asked for. We saw some of our most esteemed colleagues go into early retirement, and some relationships flourish with new partnerships to help with the intense uptick in events.

In addition to the challenges the events industry faced with trying to safely re-open their doors to the public, the public also was a challenge. We were hit with some pretty tough questions from couples looking to us for advice on how to host a safe and fun celebration. One of the most common questions was, “should I demand that all of our guests are vaccinated?” Coming from a business perspective and due to the fragile nature of society and their strong viewpoints on moral obligations, we chose to steer clear of advising our clients on best practices for vaccinations. We did however advise people to make the choice that best suited them. It all boils down to the comfort level of the people we are working with and their guests. We have an obligation to do our part to keep our staff, clients, and guests safe by maintaining good sanitization of microphones, hand washing, and masking up when in close proximity to others.

Another challenge all businesses are coming to terms with is inflation. Cost of goods, maintenance, staff, and most noticeably, fuel, has risen nearly 30% since this time last year. Even with the rises in costs, couples are still raising the bar of expectation from their entertainment. And this makes us very happy.

We’ve learned a lot in the last year and a half and have had to be very innovative. We can’t wait to push the envelope next year!
Expect more team members to serve you, more tech to make planning a snap, and more WOW factor in 2022.
